Bookadoro ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Bookadoro, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account information — display name, username, and optional email address when you create an account.
• Profile photo — if you choose to upload one from your camera or photo library.
• Reading data — books you add, reading sessions, page progress, and notes you log.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data — session events, feature interactions, and in-app actions (collected via PostHog analytics).
• Device information — device type, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting (collected via Firebase Crashlytics).
• Purchase information — subscription and in-app purchase status (processed via RevenueCat; we never see your full payment details).

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and personalise the Bookadoro experience (streaks, stats, challenges)
• Sync your data across devices via Firebase
• Send optional reading reminders and streak notifications
• Process purchases and validate subscription entitlements
• Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
• Understand how features are used to guide product decisions

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your reading data for advertising.

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained longer for product improvement purposes.

• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Export your data in a portable format

Bookadoro is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Push Notifications

We may send push notifications for reading reminders and streak alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the Bookadoro app under Settings → Notifications.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you in-app. Continued use of Bookadoro after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
