Delete Your Account

You have the right to request deletion of your Bookadoro account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to submit a deletion request, what data is deleted, and what (if anything) is retained.

How to request account deletion

You can delete your account directly in the app, or by sending us an email request.

Delete from within the app (fastest)

Open Bookadoro on your device
Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation
Tap the settings icon (top right)
Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete account"
Confirm the deletion when prompted

Your account and all data are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.

Request by email

Send an email to privacy@bookadoro.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include:

The username or email address associated with your account
A brief statement that you request permanent account deletion

We will process your request within 30 days and send a confirmation once completed.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:

Account credentials (Firebase Authentication record)
Profile information — display name, username, email, profile photo
Reading library — all books, sessions, and page progress
Streak and gamification data — XP, level, achievements, streak shields
Social data — friend connections, duo streaks, league records
Book club memberships and activity
Notification preferences and app settings
Subscription entitlement record (RevenueCat customer profile)

What data is retained

A limited amount of data may be retained after deletion for legal, financial, or technical reasons:

Anonymised analytics

Aggregated, non-identifiable usage data in PostHog and Firebase Analytics may be retained indefinitely for product improvement. This data cannot be linked back to you.

Purchase records

Transaction records required for financial and tax compliance may be retained for up to 7 years. These records contain only purchase amounts and dates — no personal profile data.

Crash logs

Anonymised crash reports in Firebase Crashlytics may be retained for up to 90 days after deletion.

Active subscriptions

Deleting your Bookadoro account does not automatically cancel an active Bookadoro Plus subscription. To avoid future charges, cancel your subscription before deleting your account:

iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Bookadoro
Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → Bookadoro
